- Resolve the Dual Nature trigger, creating a token copy of Samwise the Stouthearted.
- Put the nontoken Samwise the Stouthearted into your graveyard due to the legend rule.
- Dual Nature's second ability triggers as well as the Samwise the Stouthearted token's enters-the-battlefield ability.
- Resolve the Samwise the Stouthearted trigger, returning the nontoken Samwise the Stouthearted to your hand from your graveyard, and causing the Ring to tempt you.
- Holding priority, activate a basic Plains by tapping it, adding ({W} magic symbol) .
- Activate Earthcraft by tapping the Samwise token, untapping the Plains.
