Initial Card State

Steps

  1. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing a green nontoken creature.
  2. When the creature dies, Verdant Succession and Mortuary trigger.
  3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting the creature on top of your library from your graveyard.
  4. Resolve the Verdant Succession trigger, returning the creature from your library to the battlefield.
  5. Repeat.
