Initial Card State

  1.  All permanents on the battlefield (Eirdu as Isilu, Carrier of Twilight and Slurrk without a -1/-1 counter on it).

Steps

  1. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Slurrk.
  2. When Slurrk dies, its innate ability and persist ability trigger.
  3. Resolve Slurrk's innate ability, putting a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control that already has a +1/+1 counter on it.
  4. Resolve Slurrk's persist ability, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with four +1/+1 counters on it due to its replacement effect.
  5. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability.
  6. Repeat.
