Steps

  1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Aerid, adding one colorless manaone colorless mana.
  2. When Aerid dies, it and Nim Deathmantle trigger.
  3. Resolve the Aerid trigger, creating a Heartwood token.
  4. Activate the Heartwood by tapping it, adding one red or green mana.
  5. Resolve the Nim Deathmantle trigger, causing you to pay four generic mana to return Aerid from your graveyard to the battlefield and attaching Nim Deathmantle to it,.
  6. When Aerid enters, it triggers, creating a Heartwood token.
  7. Activate the Heartwood by tapping it, adding one red or green mana.
  8. Repeat.
