Initial Card State

  1.  All permanents on the battlefield.

Steps

  1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Bookwurm, adding ({C} magic symbol)  ({C} magic symbol)  .
  2. When Bookwurm dies, Pitiless Plunderer and Verdant Succession trigger.
  3. Resolve the Pitiless Plunderer trigger, creating a Treasure token.
  4. Activate the Treasure by tapping and sacrificing it, adding ({G} magic symbol)  .
  5. Activate Bookwurm by paying ({2} magic symbol)  ({G} magic symbol)  , putting Bookwurm from your graveyard into your library third from the top.
  6. Resolve the Verdant Succession trigger from step 2, searching your library for Bookwurm and putting it onto the battlefield.
  7. Bookwurm enters the battlefield, causing you to gain three life and draw a card.
  8. Repeat.
