Initial Card State

Steps

  1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing a creature.
  2. When the creature dies, Mortuary triggers, putting the creature from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
  3. Cast the creature from the top of your library by paying X life, where X is the creature's mana value.
  4. Aetherflux Reservoir triggers, causing you to gain 1 life for each spell you've cast this turn.
  5. Repeat.

  1. Your starting life total will need to be at least a certain number depending on the mana value of the creature you are sacrificing to perform this combo. This list shows the minimum life total you would need to have, from mana value 1 (left) to 10 (right): 2, 4, 7, 11, 16, 22, 29, 37, 46, 56. You can also cast spells to reduce the needed life to start.
