Steps

  1. Cast Ephemerate by paying ({W} magic symbol)  , blinking Fiend Hunter.
  2. Fiend Hunter enters the battlefield, triggering itself and Preston.
  3. Resolve the Fiend Hunter trigger, choosing not to exile a creature.
  4. Resolve the Preston trigger, creating a token copy of Fiend Hunter that is a 0/1 white Illusion.
  5. The Fiend Hunter token enters the battlefield, exiling the nontoken Fiend Hunter.
  6. Activate Ashnod's Altar sacrificing the Fiend Hunter token, adding ({C} magic symbol)  ({C} magic symbol)  .
  7. The token dies, returning the nontoken Fiend Hunter from exile to the battlefield.
  8. Repeat from step 2.
