Steps

  1. Activate Marath by paying ({1} magic symbol)   and removing a +1/+1 counter from it, creating a 1/1 Elemental creature token.
  2. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing the Elemental, adding ({1} magic symbol)  .
  3. When the Elemental dies, Blade of the Bloodchief triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Marath.
  4. Repeat.
