Steps

  1. At the beginning of your upkeep, Delaying Shield triggers.
  2. Holding priority, if Delaying Shield has any delay counters on it, activate Vampire Hexmage by sacrificing it, removing all delay counters from Delaying Shield.
  3. Resolve the Delaying Shield ability, doing nothing.
  4. If Vampire Hexmage is in your graveyard, activate Gravewaker by paying five generic manaone black manaone black mana, returning Vampire Hexmage from your graveyard to your hand.
  5. Repeat.

Notes

  1. Depending on how many counters Delaying Shield has, it may be cheaper to simply pay one generic manaone white mana per counter instead of losing life, if able.
