Initial Card State

Notable Prerequisites

  1. You have at least six land cards in your graveyard.

Mana Needed

  1. five generic mana available.

Steps

  1. Activate Thaumatog by sacrificing Drownyard Temple.
  2. Each Scouring Swarm you control triggers, creating a tapped token copy of itself.
  3. Resolve the Thaumatog ability.
  4. If you control four or more Scouring Swarms, activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing a Scouring Swarm, adding one red mana.
  5. Repeat step 4 until you control three Scouring Swarms or until you have three generic mana available, whichever comes first.
  6. Activate Drownyard Temple by paying three generic mana, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield.
  7. Repeat.

Notes

  1. The mana cost assumes you control no other Scouring Swarms. If you control one other Scouring Swarm, the cost is reduced to two generic mana. If you control two or more, the cost is zero mana. To get infinite Scouring Swarms, you will need to control at least four at one time. If you wish to achieve this, only sacrifice Scouring Swarms if you control five or more of them. This raises the total cost of the combo by one generic mana assuming you start with only one Scouring Swarm.
